You Can't Consume Garbage And Project Quality

What people consume have great (+ or -) consequences.

What people consume have great (+ or -) consequences.

“Social media will always work to drive the perception that instant gratification is a real thing.

But the real world will teach you that it’s still the process driven folks with self-awareness & street smarts, who are willing to do what others won’t, who will continue to win.”

I feel for our kids, I really do.

I also feel for kids who are trapped in adult bodies, and I assure you there are many of those, too.

Every morning, noon, and night people are hyper-consumed with the in your face, look at me, noise on a variety of different platforms.

Sure, there are some great creators on platforms who are doing quality work, but as you know the vast majority are telling you about their get rich quick schemes or showing you their ass in a pair of yoga pants that are two sizes too small.

And on the surface, a rational person would see through the façade and go about their day doing what needs to be done to actually accomplish objectives in their own lives.

Or so you think.

But the problem is the human mind doesn’t work the way we think it does.

We can’t just shut out and shut off what we regularly consume.

The statement, “You are a product of what you consume and who you regularly associate with” isn’t just a cheesy saying. It’s literally a fact.

And if kids are spending 8-12 hours a day on screens (some are more than that) and the vast majority of what is being injected into their cerebellums is garbage, that will quite literally wear on them.

And then their friends?

What are they consuming?

The same stuff.

So now not only are kids playing the comparison game (which statistically speaking, increases heightened levels of anxiety and depression and contributes to a lack of confidence, driving the inferiority complex) with themselves, who they’re hanging out with (while they continue to play on their phones) are seeing, talking, and being influenced by the same garbage.

If people could shut this sh*t off, I’d say “fine consume whatever you want.”

But they can’t.

And it’s impacting their perception of the real world.

It’s why people everywhere, every day are constantly running to perceived greener grass.

It’s why they feel like the world is always out to get them, when in reality they fail to realize they are simply products of their own choices and environment they’ve created.

Play the real game, we must stop clinging to the social (media) one.
