Coaching in this department isn’t “too expensive”. It’s critical to their quality of life.
“There has never been a more important time to have your kids physically & nutritionally educated beyond “PE/Health” class.
Clearly it ain’t doing it.
(Real) Coaching in this department isn’t ‘too expensive’.
A low-quality health-span riddled with preventable disease is.”

When I first got into this game, it was strictly about high level performance training.
Relative strength training that transferred to sport, capacity/tissue resilience enhancement to aid in the reduced occurrence of common sport related injuries, appropriate energy system development based on sporting demands, and so on and so forth.
And while our program is still very much about improving athletic performance, I have had to take a step back.
Well, a GIANT LEAP back.
Many kids today can’t skip.
They can’t even run a mile without stopping.
They don’t know the difference between carbohydrates and proteins.
And I’m going to worry about the French contrast training implementation being dialed?
With a kid who sat in a chair for 8 hours and then is going to go home and sit for another 6, before “going to bed” where he or she is laying there overstimulated by a blue lit screen bastardizing their sleep and recovery.
Performance coaches in the modern era cannot “build off their base”.
We must BE their base.
We ARE their PE.
Nobody is teaching them the fundamentals of movement and play. There is no hide ‘n seek, manhunt, and they aren’t playing 3v3 in the driveway.
Go look outside.
Do you see any kids playing?
Of course you don’t.
Seriously. The epidemic is real.
And still today, as a humbly acknowledging, developer of youth with an extensive track record of proof of concept, myself and many wearing my shoes are told we’re “too expensive”.
Kids have iPhones, designer clothes, $200 pairs of shoes, and thousands are spent annually on sport specifics that for all intents and purposes are counter to their overall athletic development & mental health.
But when it comes to increasing their health and physical literacy, it’s too expensive?
Learning the art of exercising properly and eating properly, with professionals who deeply care about their overall wellbeing and long term health “costs too much?”
Excuse me, but what the f*ck are we doing?
If there is one thing you can’t put a price tag on it’s the health and well-being of our most precious assets, our children.
And despite spending extensive time at the government school hall, we’re still massively failing our kids in the areas that matter most.
