Start (Indescribably) Small, But Start Right Now.

Time is our greatest asset & it's a responsibility to steward it wisely.

Time is our greatest asset & it’s a responsibility to steward it wisely.

“There’s 1.5 weeks left of 2024.

If you wait to start on the 1st Monday of January, that’s the 6th.

An opportunity cost of 16 days.

And no day is guaranteed.

Start small, but start today. Right now.

Time is our greatest asset & it’s a responsibility to steward it wisely.”

-Ray Zingler on X

When I was younger, I used to hate on New Year’s Resolutions. Especially health & fitness resolutions. Dumb, I know.

“Well, well, well, if you want it that bad, you’d start right now.” Blah, blah, blah as if I was some elitist because I operate a disciplined training regimen.

But the truth of the matter is that many people need fixed dates to begin “x”.

Sure, maybe I don’t for fitness, but ask me if I do for my taxes. All the sudden, I go from go-getter to no-getter. Thanks for tackling taxes, Courtney.

And while I do still obviously believe in urgency when it comes to growth oriented behaviors and accomplishing goals, I have evolved my take on it.

You’ve never consistently been to a gym before? Yeah, I’m not going to tell you to mosey on in there on January 1st and work in with a stranger on lat pulldown drop sets on day 1. That would suck.

But what also sucks is pretending like on January 1st you’re going to “probably become comfortable” laying down on a sweaty adjustable bench and performing dumbbell presses.

Neither the former or ladder are realistic, right?

But what you can do if you want to improve/achieve health/fitness goals is start today.

You can literally start right now.

And no, you don’t have to go to a gym, perform lat pulldowns or dumbbell presses, either. You don’t even have to buy my online program (you can if you want too, it kicks ass).

You can put your shoes on, or, hell, you can remain barefoot and go walk outside for 10 minutes.

You can do that.

See the problem with the whole health and fitness industry is many (sleazy) sales guys make it this huge, daunting process, not because it is, but because that’s how they profit off of you.

Their profit potential hinges on their ability to create a bigger barrier of entry for you.

And that’s why you won’t do it, or, stick with it at least.

Don’t buy into that bullshit.

Make one (indescribably) small quality decision today.

And then make another one tomorrow.

Repeat it.

But don’t wait.

That’s how you really reach your goals and become who you desire to be.
