There is a reason those playing the short game always end up losing.
“Private Sector Performance Business Fact:
MOST in this game invest more in videographers, clout chasing, than they do in continuing education.
Chasing clout is the short game.
Chasing continuing education is the long game.
It’s why the ‘get dat werk’ bro’s never last.”

I’m not implying all the off-brand music video style training videos you see are bad, but most of them are.
And I’m not talking about the music video production that is bad, I’m talking about the training.
It’s sad because there are some absolutely incredible creators on here who prioritize quality training and try to showcase as much as they can with a genuine interest in helping others.
But because most people on social media are driven towards entertainment and not education, the algo puts the garbage with a Da Baby tune at the top, while the guys who actually know what the hell they’re doing towards the bottom.
This is why metrics like “views” and “follower count” have absolutely and I mean absolutely nothing to do with quality.
I had a great conversation with a young coach over the weekend, he’s in his early 20’s, undergrad done, masters done, going for his PhD, the whole deal.
He is wiz smart, articulates well, and creates some incredible content. He’s up and coming, but right now has less than 2,000 followers.
SO. WHAT.
This dude could absolutely wipe the floor and I mean WIPE the floor with the vast majority of celebrity trainers with millions of followers pushing regurgitated bullshit that gets “likes” (not because you know them in real life or vice versa, but) because you know their name.
I wish it was as easy as saying, “the only way we will move forward as an industry is for us as coaches to put the clout chasing desires in the back seat and focus on continuing education and real quality training.”
But that will never happen, right?
Those with massive egos and unrelenting pride will never think critically about their actions, projections, or what is best for, you know, the people they are working with.
Nah, they know the modern world has made the game of deception too easy these days, so they’ll keep dishing out highlight “reels” of bullshit while they wait for the unknowing consumer to throw them a fire emoji to feed their ego.
Instead, unfortunately, it’s going to fall on the consumers’ to critically assess quality, ask questions, and do their homework.
With simple effort, you’ll find that most of the flash is actually trash.
Seek Quality.
