Compounding Interest Doesn't Apply Only To Finance.

Small, quality decision's today, impact tomorrow more than we understand.

Small, quality decision’s today, impact tomorrow more than we understand.

“We tend to think of ‘compounding interest’ only in financial terms, however the concept applies to many areas of life outside of finance.

Investing in even the smallest of quality decisions today will yield massive returns a bunch of tomorrow’s from now.

Micro feeds Macro.”

I’m currently performing a 6-week “Sleds & Squats” training program I designed for myself.

The training is very simple – 1,000 yards of sled drags & 100 squats, every day, for 42 days.

When I release this writing tomorrow, I’ll be on Day 25.

As you could probably imagine, doing the same 2 exercises in unison, 100 Yard Sled Drag x 10 Squats – 10 Rounds.. a bunch of days in a row can get boring.

But fortunately, I have conditioned myself to not only not mind boring, but love boring.

It’s why I eat the same breakfast every morning – unseasoned old-fashioned oatmeal without even a pinch of salt, and practice many of the other “boring” practices I perform every day.

An element of it has to do with callousing my brain similarly to how a weightlifter callouses his hands.

If I can build the habit of practicing boring (but highly beneficial) things a ridiculous number of times in a row, my ‘need’ to be entertained or excited with menial every tasks (eating and training, for example) becomes lower and lower.

The reason this is important is because when you’re void of the need to be entertained, you can view things from a much more black and white perspective.

I don’t “need” the latest and greatest work out. If anything, my training scripts have gotten dramatically less complex, the more seasoned I’ve become (30k+ hours of fitness “practice”).

Why do I eat the same thing every day? Not only does it save time and bandwidth, think about how long it takes to eat 8oz turkey and a cup of rice? 120-150 seconds? Do I need to sit here and add a bunch of delicious seasonings and sauces to a meal that won’t be here the next time I blink?

I really feel that many people struggle with exercise and diet for no other reason than their “need” to be entertained and “enjoy” every aspect of it.

I try to encourage people to view training and food as discipline and fuel. If you can understand and master this, you’ll quickly find out you don’t need TikTok workouts or Sweet Baby Ray’s.

Small, quality decisions, adhered to daily will yield returns you never thought were possible.

Make those deposits.
