Pros Seek Counsel To Feed Growth

Amateurs can "do it all on their own".

Amateurs can “do it all on their own”.

“The most effective, successful people on earth want to be coached.

This goes from athletes to business professionals.

This is why you ee the best of the best with teams of coaches, mentors, & consultants.

It’s the naive amateurs who think they can do it all on their own.”

I didn’t at all understand this when I was younger.

I thought I could read a few articles, get up before dawn, work my ass off until after dark, and then just repeat the process 7 days a week for a ton of years.

While this worked initially and got me off the ground and running, I eventually noticed, while still running, I didn’t really know where I was going.

Ego told me to just stay on the gas and outwork everybody so on I went because, I’m “self-made”, I got this.

Wrong.

I wasn’t self-made, I was self-limited, I just didn’t know it at the time.

Here I am in my early 20’s coaching 100’s of people. People literally paying me to coach them, and I think I’m “too good” or “don’t need” coaching myself?

What an idiot.

It wasn’t until I swallowed my pride and thought about growth critically, that I went to the next level.

Once I opened my mind to coaching, mentorship, and being counseled by others (yes, this required significant time and expense) it opened my eyes to a world I didn’t know existed.

I’d always been interested in personal and professional development, but this was different.

Having an actual, unbiased, straight-shooting mentor that you’ve financially invested in, get down to the brass tacks with you is much different than reading an article you want to interpret your own way without acting on it, anyway.

Being coached is a game changer for all people at all levels of life.

Why do world class athletes, business moguls, and elite operators have not 1, but TEAMS of coaches, mentors, consultants, and advisors?

Because they are always looking to gain an edge and they know their ceiling is limited if left to their own noggins’.

This is why I laugh so hard when I hear parents tell me their kid “can train on his own”.

Really!?

Lebron James, the greatest active hooper alive spends 7 figures a year on coaching.

But your kid with no experience, knowledge, or discipline can do it on his own?

I mean its insanity.

But this goes beyond youth athletes.

Amateur people can “do it all themselves.”

The high performing Professionals seek counsel and that is why they stay winning.
